About
Angloff-OZ Tablet is a powerful fixed-dose combination antimicrobial medication, typically comprising Ofloxacin and Ornidazole, designed to combat a broad spectrum of infections. Ofloxacin, a potent fluoroquinolone antibiotic, exerts its bactericidal action by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, crucial enzymes required for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, ultimately leading to bacterial cell death. Ornidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, functions as both an antibiotic and an antiprotozoal agent. It penetrates microbial cells and damages their DNA, effectively eradicating susceptible anaerobic bacteria and various protozoa. This synergistic combination provides comprehensive coverage against a wide array of bacterial and protozoal pathogens, rendering it highly effective in the treatment of mixed infections, particularly those impacting the gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, and various soft tissue infections, ensuring a more complete therapeutic response.
