About
CUDUHENZ CAP contains Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA), a naturally occurring bile acid that is used to treat various liver and gallbladder conditions. UDCA works by reducing the cholesterol content of bile, thereby dissolving cholesterol gallstones and preventing their formation. It also has cytoprotective, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory effects on liver cells. By altering the composition of bile and protecting hepatocytes from toxic bile acids, UDCA improves bile flow and liver function.
It is particularly effective in managing primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and other cholestatic liver diseases, where it helps to slow disease progression and improve liver enzyme levels. This action contributes to better liver health and reduces the risk of complications associated with impaired bile flow.
