About

Dargen 40 Injection, containing pantoprazole, is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce stomach acid production. It works by irreversibly binding to the H+/K+-ATPase pump in the gastric parietal cells, thereby inhibiting the final step of acid secretion. This leads to a significant and prolonged reduction in gastric acid, promoting the healing of erosions and ulcers and alleviating symptoms associated with acid-related disorders.

The injectable form is particularly useful for patients who are unable to take oral medication, such as those with severe gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, or for the prevention of stress ulcers in critically ill patients. It provides rapid and effective acid suppression, which is vital for managing acute conditions and preventing complications in hospitalized individuals.

Uses

  • Treatment of severe erosive esophagitis.
  • Management of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
  • Prevention of re-bleeding in peptic ulcers.
