About
Deczuba 50mg Injection contains decitabine as its active ingredient. It is an antineoplastic medication belonging to the class of DNA methylation inhibitors. This injection is used in the treatment of myelodysplastic syndrome—a group of disorders where the bone marrow produces abnormally shaped blood cells and fails to generate enough healthy ones. It is also prescribed for acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. Deczuba works by inhibiting the growth of cancer cells.
Do not use this injection if you are allergic to decitabine or any of its components. Inform your doctor if you have a current infection, low blood cell counts, liver or kidney disease, or any heart condition. This medication is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years of age. In rare cases, it may cause a serious immune reaction called differentiation syndrome. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience sudden breathing difficulty, cough, fever, or swelling.
Deczuba 50mg Injection should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, as it may harm the baby. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant, inform your doctor. Effective contraception should be used during treatment to prevent pregnancy.
Common side effects include a reduction in white and red blood cell counts, low platelet levels, and fever.
