Erypeg 50mcg Injection contains recombinant human erythropoietin alfa (epoetin alfa) as its active ingredient. It belongs to a class of drugs known as erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs). This medication is used to treat anemia resulting from chronic kidney disease (CKD), cancer chemotherapy, or HIV treatment involving zidovudine. It also helps reduce the need for red blood cell transfusions in patients at high risk of blood loss due to planned surgeries or medical procedures.

Erypeg 50mcg Injection should not be used in individuals with a known allergy to the drug or any of its ingredients, as well as those with uncontrolled high blood pressure, active thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA), pure red cell aplasia (PRCA), uncontrolled seizures, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Use this medication with caution if you have a history of blood clots, heart disease, stroke, kidney or liver disorders, thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, leukemia, or cancer. In children under 18, it should be used only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Older adults should be carefully monitored for side effects while on this medication.
