About

I-Dox 20mg Injection, containing Doxorubicin, is a cornerstone anthracycline cytotoxic antibiotic widely employed in the treatment of a broad spectrum of cancers. Its potent anticancer effects are primarily mediated through three distinct mechanisms: intercalation into DNA, which disrupts its structure and function; inhibition of topoisomerase II, an enzyme critical for DNA replication and repair; and the generation of highly reactive free radicals, leading to oxidative damage to cellular components. These combined actions result in significant DNA damage, inhibition of both DNA and RNA synthesis, and ultimately, programmed cell death (apoptosis) in rapidly proliferating cancer cells. Doxorubicin is effective against various solid tumors and hematological malignancies, but its administration necessitates careful monitoring due to the risk of dose-dependent cardiotoxicity and myelosuppression.
