About

IMODIUM CAP contains loperamide, an opioid-receptor agonist that acts directly on the gut wall to slow down intestinal motility. By binding to opioid receptors in the intestinal wall, it reduces the release of acetylcholine and prostaglandins, thereby decreasing propulsive peristalsis and increasing the transit time of intestinal contents.
