About

Jakavi 15mg Tablet contains ruxolitinib as its active ingredient. It is an anticancer medication classified as a kinase inhibitor. This medicine is used to treat myelofibrosis—a rare bone marrow cancer that leads to reduced blood cell production—and polycythemia vera, a blood cancer where the body produces excess red blood cells, particularly in patients who do not respond to or cannot tolerate hydroxyurea.

Jakavi is also indicated for the treatment of acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), a complication that may occur after a bone marrow transplant, in adults and children aged 12 and older who have not responded to steroid therapy. Additionally, it is used to treat chronic GVHD in adults and children 12 years and above who have failed one or two previous systemic therapies.

Jakavi 15mg Tablet works by blocking specific signals that promote the growth and multiplication of cancer cells. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to ruxolitinib or any of its components. Inform your doctor in advance if you have or have had tuberculosis, hepatitis B or C, liver disease, or kidney issues. It is especially important to notify your physician if you are undergoing dialysis.

Common side effects include dizziness, low blood cell counts, bruising, bleeding, headache, and swelling of the face or body. Always consult your physician for proper guidance and monitoring during treatment.
