About

Melfalax 5mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Melphalan, an anticancer medication from the class of alkylating agents. It is primarily used to treat multiple myeloma, a type of cancer affecting the bone marrow. Additionally, it is prescribed for advanced stages of breast and ovarian cancer, as well as polycythemia vera—a condition characterized by an increased number of red blood cells, leading to thickened blood and a higher risk of clot formation. Melfalax works by decreasing the production of abnormal cells in the body.

Avoid taking Melfalax 5mg Tablet if you are allergic to melphalan or any of its components. Inform your doctor if you have recently undergone radiotherapy or chemotherapy, or if you have any kidney problems. This medication should not be taken during pregnancy or if you are planning to conceive. Let your doctor know if you have recently received a vaccine or plan to get vaccinated. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms such as skin rash, hives or lumps, swelling of the face, lips, or eyelids, sudden wheezing, or chest tightness after taking the medicine.
