About

MYSODA EC 500MG TAB contains Sodium Bicarbonate, an antacid and alkalinizing agent, formulated with an enteric coating. This medication is primarily used to relieve symptoms of indigestion, heartburn, and acid reflux by neutralizing excess stomach acid. As an antacid, sodium bicarbonate reacts with hydrochloric acid in the stomach to produce water, carbon dioxide, and sodium chloride, thereby raising the gastric pH. The enteric coating is designed to protect the sodium bicarbonate from premature dissolution in the acidic stomach environment, allowing it to reach the intestines where it can be absorbed or exert its effects without causing excessive gas or discomfort in the stomach. It can also be used as an alkalinizing agent in certain metabolic conditions to correct acidosis or to alkalinize urine, which can aid in the excretion of certain drugs or prevent kidney stone formation.

Uses

  • Relief of heartburn and indigestion.
  • Management of acid reflux symptoms.
  • Alkalinization of urine in specific conditions.
  • Correction of metabolic acidosis.

Directions For Use

Take this tablet orally with water, as directed by your doctor. Do not chew or crush the enteric-coated tablet.
