About

Nexaflux Tab is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) medication primarily used for the treatment of conditions associated with excessive stomach acid production. Its mechanism of action involves irreversibly binding to and inhibiting the hydrogen-potassium adenosine triphosphatase (H+/K+-ATPase) pump, commonly known as the proton pump, located in the parietal cells of the stomach lining. This inhibition effectively blocks the final step in gastric acid secretion, leading to a significant and sustained reduction in stomach acid levels. Clinically, Nexaflux is indicated for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), including erosive esophagitis, peptic ulcers (gastric and duodenal), and pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

It promotes the healing of esophageal and gastric lesions, alleviates symptoms like heartburn and acid regurgitation, and prevents recurrence. Due to its potent acid-suppressing effects, it is often prescribed for a defined period, with consideration for long-term use only under strict medical supervision to monitor for potential adverse effects.
