About
Nab-paclitaxel (Paclitax Nab) is an innovative, albumin-bound nanoparticle formulation of paclitaxel, a potent microtubule inhibitor used in the treatment of various solid tumors. This unique formulation allows for higher doses of paclitaxel to be delivered to cancer cells with a reduced incidence of solvent-related toxicities, such as hypersensitivity reactions, which are common with conventional paclitaxel. Nab-paclitaxel works by disrupting the normal function of microtubules, essential components for cell division, leading to cell cycle arrest and programmed cell death in rapidly proliferating cancer cells. The albumin binding facilitates enhanced tumor penetration and accumulation, making it an effective option for patients with metastatic breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
