About

This syrup contains Polyethylene Glycol (PEG), an effective osmotic laxative widely used for the treatment of both occasional and chronic constipation. PEG functions by drawing and retaining a significant amount of water within the bowel lumen. This increased water content has a dual effect: it softens the stool considerably, making it much easier to pass, and simultaneously increases the stool's bulk. The augmented volume of stool then gently stimulates the natural peristaltic movements of the bowel, facilitating a comfortable and regular evacuation. Unlike stimulant laxatives, PEG is generally well-tolerated and does not cause significant electrolyte imbalances or lead to dependency, even with prolonged use.
