About

Pomalirel 4mg Capsule contains the active ingredient Pomalidomide, a chemotherapy medicine belonging to the class of immunomodulatory agents. It is used in the treatment of multiple myeloma in adults—a type of cancer that affects plasma cells (a kind of white blood cell). In multiple myeloma, these cells multiply uncontrollably and build up in the bone marrow, leading to bone damage and kidney problems.

Common side effects may include shortness of breath, tiredness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, back or bone pain, dizziness, tremors, respiratory infections, trouble sleeping, loss of appetite, fatigue, muscle spasms or weakness, tingling/numbness or burning sensation in the hands or feet, low potassium levels, and anemia. Inform your doctor if any of these symptoms persist or become bothersome.

Precautions: Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you are allergic to Pomalirel 4mg Capsule or any of its ingredients. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you have high cholesterol, heart problems, breathing issues, blood clot disorders, hepatitis B, neuropathy (nerve damage in hands or feet), or if you smoke. This medicine is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years of age.

Side effects
Serious :

• Blood clots (chest or leg pain, swelling)
• Severe liver problems (yellowing of skin or eyes, dark-brow colour urine, abdominal Pain)
• Severe allergic reactions (swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing)
• Low white blood cells
• Bleeding or bruising
• Severe or bloody diarrhoea

 Common: 

• Shortness of breath

• Low potassium level in the blood (hypokalaemia)
• Back pain, bone pain
• Diarrhea, constipation
• Upper respiratory tract infection
• High blood sugar levels

• Numbness, tingling, or burning sensation in the skin, Pain in hands or feet
• Anemia

Safety Measures

Alcohol -  The safety of consuming alcohol while taking Pomalirel 4mg Capsule is not established. Please consult your doctor before drinking alcohol during the treatment.
Pregnancy - Pomalirel 4mg Capsule is unsafe during pregnancy as it may cause serious harm to the unborn baby. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive before starting this medicine.
Breastfeeding - Pomalirel 4mg Capsule is not recommended during breastfeeding, as it is unknown whether the medicine passes into breast milk and may harm the baby.
Liver - Pomalirel 4mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment may be necessary, and your doctor will monitor your liver function with regular blood tests during treatment.
Kidney - Pomalirel 4mg Capsule is generally safe for patients with kidney disease, and no dose adjustment is required.
