Introduction to Potawem Injection 10ml

Potawem Injection 10ml contains Potassium Chloride, an essential electrolyte used to correct and prevent low potassium levels (hypokalemia) in the body. Electrolytes play a vital role in maintaining fluid balance, nerve function, muscle activity, and heart rhythm. This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to Potassium Chloride or any of its components. It is also contraindicated in conditions such as high potassium levels (hyperkalemia), kidney impairment, Addison’s disease, severe dehydration, heat cramps, or elevated chloride levels in the blood (hyperchloremia). Always consult your doctor if these conditions apply to you.

Before starting therapy, inform your doctor if you have any heart-related issues or have suffered major injuries such as large-area burns. During Potawem administration, continuous ECG monitoring is usually required to track heart activity. Common side effects may include tingling sensations, muscle weakness, irregular heartbeat, increased potassium levels, low blood pressure with dizziness, vein irritation, or pain at the injection site.
