About

RAMISOL-2.5 TAB contains Ramipril 2.5mg, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. This medication is used for the treatment of essential hypertension, heart failure, and to reduce cardiovascular risk in patients who have had a myocardial infarction or are at high risk of cardiovascular events. Ramipril works by inhibiting the enzyme responsible for converting angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a powerful vasoconstrictor. This inhibition leads to vasodilation, decreased aldosterone production, and reduced sodium and water retention, resulting in a reduction in blood pressure and a decrease in the workload on the heart.

The 2.5mg dose is often used for initial therapy in hypertension, for patients who are sensitive to higher doses, or as part of a regimen for heart failure or post-myocardial infarction. It also offers renoprotective benefits, particularly in patients with diabetic nephropathy. Ramipril helps to improve endothelial function and prevent ventricular remodeling, contributing to its overall cardiovascular protective effects. Its flexible dosing allows for tailored treatment based on individual patient needs and tolerability.
