About

Relugonat 120mg Tablet contains Relugolix, a novel, non-peptide, orally administered gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor antagonist. Its mechanism of action involves competitively binding to and blocking GnRH receptors located in the anterior pituitary gland. This blockade effectively inhibits the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) from the pituitary. Consequently, the downstream production of sex hormones, specifically testosterone in men and estrogen in women, is significantly suppressed. This rapid and profound reduction in circulating sex hormone levels makes Relugolix an effective treatment for various hormone-sensitive conditions, including advanced prostate cancer, uterine fibroids, and endometriosis. Its oral bioavailability provides a convenient and less invasive alternative to traditional injectable GnRH agonists, offering a targeted approach to hormonal suppression.
