About

SUCROBIND TAB is a cytoprotective agent primarily used in the treatment and prevention of ulcers in the gastrointestinal tract. Its mechanism of action involves forming a protective barrier over ulcerated tissue. When it comes into contact with stomach acid, it polymerizes into a viscous, sticky gel that adheres selectively to the proteinaceous exudates at the base of ulcers and erosions, shielding them from further damage by acid, pepsin, and bile salts.

This physical barrier promotes the healing process by allowing the damaged mucosa to recover without constant irritation. SUCROBIND is minimally absorbed systemically, which contributes to its favorable safety profile, making it a valuable option for patients with peptic ulcer disease and related conditions.
