About

TERBINAFORCE TABLET contains Terbinafine, an allylamine antifungal agent. It exerts its fungicidal action by selectively inhibiting squalene epoxidase, a key enzyme in the fungal ergosterol biosynthesis pathway. This inhibition leads to an accumulation of squalene within the fungal cell and a deficiency of ergosterol, both of which are toxic to the fungal cell membrane. The disruption of the cell membrane integrity and function ultimately results in fungal cell death. Terbinafine is particularly effective against dermatophytes, the fungi responsible for various skin, hair, and nail infections, and is well-absorbed orally, allowing for systemic treatment of stubborn mycoses.

Uses

  • Treatment of onychomycosis (fungal nail infections)
  • Management of tinea corporis (ringworm of the body)
  • Treatment of tinea cruris (jock itch)
  • Alleviation of tinea pedis (athlete's foot)
