About
Vortero 200mg injection contains the active ingredient voriconazole, an antifungal medication classified as a fungal ergosterol synthesis inhibitor. It is used to treat severe, life-threatening fungal infections and to prevent infections in high-risk patients, such as those who have undergone bone marrow transplants. This medication is not recommended for children under 2 years of age.
Do not use Vortero 200mg injection if you are allergic to voriconazole or any of its components. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have experienced allergic reactions to other azole antifungals, have a history of liver disease, cardiomyopathy, irregular heartbeat, slow heart rate, or an ECG abnormality known as long QTc syndrome. It is also important to avoid sunlight and protect your skin with clothing and high-SPF sunscreen during treatment, with the same precautions advised for children.
Common side effects may include fever, rash, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, swelling of the limbs, stomach pain, and breathing difficulties.
If you experience sunburn, severe skin rash or blisters, bone pain, symptoms of adrenal insufficiency (such as chronic fatigue, muscle weakness, loss of appetite, weight loss, or abdominal pain), or signs of Cushing’s syndrome (including weight gain, fatty deposits, rounded face, darkened or thinning skin, easy bruising, high blood sugar, excessive hair growth, or excessive sweating), contact your doctor immediately. Also, inform your healthcare provider if you have intolerance to certain sugars, as this medication contains lactose.
