About

Alkacel 5mg Tablet is an alkylating agent, a class of cytotoxic drugs widely used in chemotherapy. Its primary mechanism of action involves the formation of covalent bonds with DNA, leading to cross-linking of DNA strands and interference with DNA replication and transcription. This damage ultimately triggers cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells, thereby inhibiting tumor growth.

This oral formulation is typically employed in the treatment of various hematological malignancies and solid tumors, either as a single agent or in combination with other chemotherapeutic drugs. Due to its potent myelosuppressive effects, close monitoring of blood counts is essential throughout the treatment period to manage potential toxicities and ensure patient safety.
