About

APXENTA 30MG TAB contains Apixaban, an oral direct factor Xa inhibitor, a type of anticoagulant. It works by selectively and reversibly inhibiting free and clot-bound factor Xa, an enzyme critical in the coagulation cascade responsible for converting prothrombin to thrombin. By inhibiting factor Xa, Apixaban reduces thrombin generation and thrombus formation, thereby preventing blood clots. It is widely used for the prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, and for the treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). Its predictable pharmacokinetics and lack of need for routine coagulation monitoring make it a convenient and effective option for anticoagulation, offering a significant advantage over traditional anticoagulants.

Uses

  • Prevention of stroke in non-valvular atrial fibrillation
  • Treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • Treatment of pulmonary embolism (PE)
  • Prevention of recurrent DVT and PE
