Biotrexate 15mg Injection contains methotrexate as its active ingredient. It is classified as an antimetabolite and immunosuppressant medication. This injection is used to treat various types of cancer in adults, including acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), meningeal leukemia, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, osteosarcoma, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, breast cancer, and cancers of the head and neck. In addition to its cancer-fighting properties, Biotrexate is also prescribed for adults with severe psoriasis—a skin condition that causes red, scaly patches—and for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

You should not use Biotrexate 15mg Injection if you are allergic to methotrexate or any of its ingredients. It is also contraindicated in individuals with kidney or liver disorders, blood abnormalities, a weakened immune system, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience symptoms such as coughing or spitting up blood, muscle weakness, visual disturbances, confusion, memory issues, or disorientation. This medication may affect fertility, so it is important to avoid pregnancy during treatment and for at least six months after the final dose.

Before starting therapy, let your physician know if you have a stomach ulcer, an active infection, mild kidney problems, or if you’ve recently received any vaccinations. Biotrexate can cause serious side effects even at low doses, making regular monitoring and routine blood tests essential throughout the course of treatment. This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or if you are planning to become pregnant.
