About

Briv 50 mg contains brivaracetam, an antiepileptic drug (AED) used in the treatment of partial-onset seizures with or without secondary generalization in patients aged 4 years and older. Brivaracetam is believed to exert its anticonvulsant effects by selectively binding to synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A) in the brain, a mechanism similar to levetiracetam but with higher affinity. This binding modulates neurotransmitter release, thereby stabilizing hyperexcited nerve cells and reducing the frequency of seizures.
