Clopidogrel and Aspirin constitute a dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) widely prescribed to mitigate the risk of serious cardiovascular events in patients deemed at high thrombotic risk. Clopidogrel, a thienopyridine antiplatelet agent, exerts its effect by selectively and irreversibly inhibiting the binding of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) to its P2Y12 receptor on the platelet surface, thereby preventing platelet activation and subsequent aggregation. Aspirin, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, leading to a reduction in the synthesis of thromboxane A2, a potent inducer of platelet aggregation and vasoconstriction. Directions For Use
