About

Daxotel Injection contains Docetaxel, a potent taxane antineoplastic agent widely used in the treatment of various solid tumors, including breast, non-small cell lung, prostate, gastric, and head and neck cancers. It exerts its cytotoxic effects by promoting the assembly of microtubules from tubulin dimers and inhibiting their depolymerization. This leads to the stabilization of microtubules, preventing normal cellular mitotic and interphase functions that are essential for cell division.

The disruption of the microtubule network is critical for cell division and other vital cellular processes, ultimately leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. Docetaxel is a cornerstone in the chemotherapy regimens for several advanced cancers, often used alone or in combination with other agents. Its efficacy stems from its ability to interfere with the dynamic equilibrium of microtubules, which are crucial for maintaining cell shape, motility, and intracellular transport, thereby effectively halting cancer cell proliferation.
