About

Duopep 40 Tablet is a potent proton pump inhibitor (PPI) medication primarily indicated for the effective reduction of gastric acid secretion. It contains an active ingredient, such as pantoprazole 40mg, which functions by irreversibly binding to and inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system (the proton pump) located in the secretory canaliculi of the gastric parietal cells. This action leads to a significant and sustained decrease in both basal and stimulated acid production, providing profound acid suppression. Duopep 40 is widely prescribed for the treatment and long-term management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), healing of erosive esophagitis, treatment of peptic ulcers (gastric and duodenal), and management of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It effectively alleviates symptoms like heartburn, acid regurgitation, and dyspepsia, promoting healing of the damaged esophageal and gastric lining.

  • Breastfeeding - Consult a doctor before use. PPIs can pass into breast milk, and medical advice is essential to weigh potential risks to the infant.
  • Liver - Use with caution in patients with severe liver impairment; dose adjustment may be necessary.
