About

Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that effectively reduces the production of stomach acid. It works by irreversibly binding to the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system (the proton pump) in the gastric parietal cells, thereby inhibiting the final step in acid secretion. This leads to sustained inhibition of gastric acid production, providing relief from acid-related symptoms and promoting healing of the esophageal lining. This formulation is specifically designed for pediatric use, offering a suitable dosage and form for younger patients. It helps manage conditions like pediatric gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive esophagitis in children, ensuring effective acid control and improved comfort for pediatric patients.
