About

Fasvivo 250mg Injection contains Pemetrexed, an antifolate antineoplastic agent used in the treatment of various cancers, primarily non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and malignant pleural mesothelioma. Pemetrexed works by disrupting critical folate-dependent metabolic processes essential for cell replication. It inhibits several key enzymes involved in purine and pyrimidine synthesis, including thymidylate synthase (TS), dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR), and glycinamide ribonucleotide formyltransferase (GARFT).

By interfering with these pathways, Pemetrexed effectively halts DNA synthesis and repair, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. This targeted action makes it an effective chemotherapy agent, often used alone or in combination with other drugs, to improve survival and manage disease progression in eligible patients.

Uses

  • First-line treatment of locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
  • Maintenance treatment of locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
  • Treatment of malignant pleural mesothelioma in combination with cisplatin.
  • Treatment of recurrent non-small cell lung cancer after prior chemotherapy.
