About

FCMALT INJ contains Ferric Carboxymaltose, an intravenous iron preparation used for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia. This medication is indicated when oral iron supplements are ineffective, poorly tolerated, or when there is a clinical need for rapid iron repletion. Ferric Carboxymaltose delivers iron directly to the reticuloendothelial system, where it is released and incorporated into hemoglobin, myoglobin, and other iron-containing proteins.

The advantage of intravenous iron is its ability to quickly replenish iron stores and increase hemoglobin levels without the gastrointestinal side effects often associated with oral iron. It is particularly beneficial for patients with chronic kidney disease, inflammatory bowel disease, or those undergoing chemotherapy. Careful monitoring for hypersensitivity reactions and iron overload is essential during and after administration.

Uses

  • Treatment of iron deficiency anemia.
  • Anemia in chronic kidney disease patients.
  • Iron deficiency in inflammatory bowel disease.
  • Postpartum iron deficiency anemia.

Directions For Use
