About

Flavoride contains Flavoxate, an antispasmodic agent specifically designed to relax the smooth muscles of the urinary tract. It works by directly inhibiting phosphodiesterase, an enzyme that breaks down cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). By increasing intracellular cAMP levels, Flavoxate promotes the relaxation of detrusor muscle in the bladder, thereby reducing involuntary contractions and spasms. This action helps to alleviate symptoms such as painful urination (dysuria), frequent urination (pollakiuria), urgency, and nocturia associated with various urological conditions.

This medication is primarily used for symptomatic relief of bladder and urinary tract irritation. It does not treat bacterial infections but provides comfort by reducing the spasms and associated discomfort. Its targeted action on the urinary smooth muscle makes it an effective choice for managing symptoms of overactive bladder, cystitis, and other irritative conditions of the lower urinary tract.
