About

FUTIL CV TAB is a powerful combination antibiotic containing amoxicillin, a penicillin-type antibiotic, and clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Amoxicillin works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, a critical process for bacterial survival, leading to bacterial cell death. Clavulanic acid, on the other hand, protects amoxicillin from degradation by beta-lactamase enzymes, which are produced by many resistant bacteria to inactivate penicillin-class drugs. This synergistic action significantly broadens the spectrum of amoxicillin, making it effective against a wider range of bacterial infections, including those caused by beta-lactamase-producing strains that would otherwise be resistant. It is commonly prescribed for various infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and otitis media, offering a robust solution for complex bacterial challenges.

Uses

  • Treats respiratory tract infections (e.g., sinusitis, bronchitis).
  • Manages urinary tract infections.
