Lactihep Syrup primarily contains Lactulose, a synthetic disaccharide that functions as an osmotic laxative. When ingested, lactulose passes largely undigested into the large intestine, where it is metabolized by colonic bacteria. This process leads to the production of organic acids and gases, which in turn draw water into the colon. The increased water content softens the stool and increases its bulk, stimulating peristalsis and promoting easier bowel movements.
