About

LIPIKIND F TAB is a combination lipid-modifying medication containing Atorvastatin, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin), and Fenofibrate, a fibric acid derivative. Atorvastatin primarily reduces the synthesis of cholesterol in the liver, leading to significant reductions in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and triglycerides, while also modestly increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Fenofibrate primarily acts by activating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα), which enhances the catabolism of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins and increases HDL-C production. This dual-action therapy is specifically designed for the comprehensive management of mixed dyslipidemia, where patients present with elevated triglycerides and high LDL-C. The synergistic effects of Atorvastatin and Fenofibrate provide a more potent reduction in atherogenic lipids and an increase in protective lipids, thereby significantly reducing the overall cardiovascular risk in high-risk individuals.
