About

Midora 2.5mg Tablet contains midodrine, a vasopressor agent used primarily in the treatment of symptomatic orthostatic hypotension. Midodrine is a prodrug that is enzymatically hydrolyzed to its active metabolite, desglymidodrine. Desglymidodrine acts as an alpha-1 adrenergic agonist, causing vasoconstriction of arterioles and venules, which leads to an increase in standing blood pressure. This action helps to alleviate symptoms such as dizziness, lightheadedness, and fainting associated with a significant drop in blood pressure upon standing.

It is particularly useful for patients whose daily activities are severely impaired by orthostatic hypotension despite non-pharmacological measures. By improving vascular tone, Midora helps maintain adequate cerebral perfusion when upright, thereby reducing the debilitating effects of low blood pressure upon standing.

Uses

  • Treatment of symptomatic orthostatic hypotension.
  • Alleviation of dizziness and lightheadedness upon standing.
  • Reduction of syncope episodes due to low blood pressure.
  • Improvement of functional capacity in patients with severe orthostatic hypotension.
