About
MOXIKIND CV DRY SYP is a combination antibiotic containing Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid. Amoxicillin is a penicillin-class antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the death of susceptible bacteria. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects Amoxicillin from degradation by bacterial enzymes called beta-lactamases. These enzymes are produced by some bacteria, rendering Amoxicillin ineffective on its own. By inhibiting these enzymes, Clavulanic Acid extends the antibacterial spectrum of Amoxicillin, making the combination effective against a broader range of resistant bacterial strains.
This dry syrup formulation is designed for oral administration, particularly suitable for children and individuals who have difficulty swallowing tablets. It is widely used to treat various bacterial infections, including those affecting the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and middle ear, providing a robust solution against common pathogens.
