About

Rebopag 50mg Tablet is an anticoagulant medication classified as a thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist, containing the active ingredient Eltrombopag. It is used to treat low platelet counts caused by primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) or hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. ITP is an autoimmune disorder where the immune system attacks and destroys platelets, the blood cells responsible for clotting and protecting blood vessel walls. Low platelet levels can lead to excessive bleeding and bruising. Additionally, this tablet is prescribed for adults with severe aplastic anemia, a serious condition where the bone marrow fails to produce sufficient new blood cells.

Rebopag 50mg Tablet should not be used by individuals with known allergies or hypersensitivity to the drug or any of its ingredients. Allergic reactions can range from mild symptoms like rash and itching to severe effects such as swelling, dizziness, or difficulty breathing. This medication is contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment or active liver disease due to the risk of hepatotoxicity, as indicated by elevated liver enzymes and bilirubin. Using it in patients with serious liver conditions may worsen liver function, so caution is necessary. Your doctor may also recommend regular eye examinations to monitor for cataracts or retinal bleeding, especially if you do not have routine eye tests.

If you discontinue this medication, your platelet count is likely to drop within a few days. Your doctor will regularly monitor your platelet levels and advise you on necessary precautions. Although very high platelet counts can increase the risk of blood clots, clots can also occur at normal or low platelet levels. Your doctor will adjust your dose to maintain safe platelet levels. Avoid taking this tablet with dairy products or calcium-rich drinks, as calcium can interfere with its absorption. Use effective contraception during treatment, and inform your doctor immediately if you become pregnant. Rebopag 50mg Tablet is not recommended for children under one year old with ITP, nor for patients under 18 with low platelet counts due to hepatitis C or severe aplastic anemia. Always inform your doctor about any other medications, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements, that you are currently taking or planning to take.
