About

This medication combines Ofloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic, with Ornidazole, an antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent. Ofloxacin works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, leading to bacterial cell death. Ornidazole, on the other hand, acts by damaging the DNA of susceptible anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, disrupting their cellular functions. This synergistic combination provides comprehensive coverage against a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections, making it effective for treating mixed infections where both aerobic and anaerobic pathogens, or protozoa, are suspected. It is commonly prescribed for various gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and other systemic infections.

Uses

• Treatment of bacterial and protozoal diarrhea and dysentery.

Directions For Use
