About

PANTOCAR L CAP combines Pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), with Levosulpiride, a prokinetic agent. Pantoprazole works by selectively and irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system (proton pump) in the gastric parietal cells, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion significantly and for a prolonged duration. Levosulpiride, a selective dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, enhances gastrointestinal motility by increasing acetylcholine release in the enteric nervous system, promoting gastric emptying and improving coordination of gut movements. This combination is particularly useful for treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and functional dyspepsia, especially when symptoms include both excessive acid production and impaired gastrointestinal motility, such as bloating, early satiety, and regurgitation. It provides comprehensive relief by addressing both acid-related and motility-related issues.
