About

PEG FILTERO 6MG/0.6ML PFS, containing Pegfilgrastim, is a pegylated form of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). It plays a vital role in oncology supportive care by stimulating the production, maturation, and release of neutrophils from the bone marrow. Neutrophils are a type of white blood cell crucial for fighting bacterial infections. Chemotherapy often causes myelosuppression, leading to a significant drop in neutrophil counts (neutropenia), which increases the risk of serious infections, known as febrile neutropenia.

Pegfilgrastim is designed to reduce the incidence and duration of chemotherapy-induced febrile neutropenia. The pegylation process extends the half-life of filgrastim, allowing for a single dose per chemotherapy cycle, typically administered at least 24 hours after chemotherapy. This convenience, combined with its efficacy in maintaining adequate neutrophil levels, helps to ensure that cancer patients can receive their planned chemotherapy doses on schedule, thereby optimizing treatment outcomes and improving their quality of life by reducing infection-related complications.

Uses

  • Reduce incidence of febrile neutropenia in cancer patients
  • Decrease the duration of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia
  • Mobilize hematopoietic stem cells for transplantation
  • Treatment of severe chronic neutropenia

Directions For Use

Administer subcutaneously once per chemotherapy cycle, at least 24 hours after chemotherapy. Do not administer within 14 days before the next chemotherapy dose.

  • Significantly reduces the risk of serious infections
  • Allows for on-schedule chemotherapy administration
  • Improves patient quality of life by reducing complications
  • Convenient single dose per chemotherapy cycle
  • Supports dose-dense chemotherapy regimens
