About

Riborea 500mg Capsule contains Ribociclib, an oral cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) 4/6 inhibitor. This medication is indicated for the treatment of hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer. Ribociclib works by selectively inhibiting CDK4 and CDK6, which are key regulators of cell cycle progression. By blocking these kinases, Ribociclib arrests cancer cells in the G1 phase of the cell cycle, preventing their proliferation and tumor growth. It is typically used in combination with an aromatase inhibitor or fulvestrant as endocrine-based therapy.

This targeted approach significantly improves progression-free survival in eligible patients, offering a crucial advancement in the management of this specific subtype of breast cancer. Regular monitoring for potential side effects, particularly neutropenia and liver enzyme elevations, is important during treatment.

Uses

  • HR-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer
  • Metastatic breast cancer (HR+, HER2-)
  • First-line treatment for postmenopausal women
