About

TEBAHIST-8 contains Betahistine 8mg, a histamine analogue primarily used for the symptomatic treatment of Meniere's disease. Meniere's disease is a disorder of the inner ear that causes episodes of vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss, and a feeling of fullness in the ear. Betahistine is believed to work by improving blood flow in the inner ear, specifically in the stria vascularis, and by reducing the pressure of endolymphatic fluid. It may also act as a weak H1-receptor agonist and a potent H3-receptor antagonist, thereby increasing the release of histamine from histaminergic neurons. This dual action helps to alleviate the symptoms of Meniere's disease, reducing the frequency and severity of vertigo attacks and improving overall balance, thereby enhancing the patient's quality of life.
