About
UDGRACE 300 TAB contains Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA), a naturally occurring bile acid that is used to dissolve certain types of gallstones and to treat primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). UDCA works by reducing the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver and absorbed by the intestines, thereby decreasing the cholesterol saturation of bile and facilitating the dissolution of cholesterol gallstones. In PBC, UDCA improves bile flow and protects liver cells from damage by toxic bile acids, slowing the progression of the disease and improving liver function tests. It is a hydrophilic bile acid that replaces more toxic hydrophobic bile acids in the bile acid pool, thus exerting cytoprotective effects.
