About

VOMILAST OD is an antiemetic medication specifically formulated for the effective prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting. Its primary mechanism of action involves selectively blocking serotonin receptors, particularly the 5-HT3 subtype, which are located in the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) in the brain and on vagal nerve terminals within the gastrointestinal tract. By inhibiting the binding of serotonin to these receptors, VOMILAST OD effectively prevents the initiation and propagation of the vomiting reflex. This makes it particularly valuable in managing severe nausea and vomiting induced by highly emetogenic treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy, as well as post-operative nausea and vomiting. The "OD" (Once Daily) formulation signifies an extended-release delivery system, ensuring prolonged therapeutic effects and enhancing patient convenience and adherence to the treatment regimen.
