About

ZOCEF 500, containing Cefuroxime 500mg, is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It exerts its bactericidal action by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, leading to the lysis and death of susceptible bacteria. Cefuroxime is effective against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including many strains resistant to first-generation cephalosporins. Its stability against many beta-lactamases, enzymes produced by bacteria that can inactivate antibiotics, contributes to its efficacy. This antibiotic is widely used to treat various bacterial infections across different body systems, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and ear infections. Its oral formulation provides a convenient and effective treatment option for both adults and children, ensuring good patient compliance and therapeutic outcomes.
