About

ZOCEF CV 500 contains Cefuroxime Axetil, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, combined with Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Cefuroxime works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death, and is effective against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Clavulanic acid extends the antibacterial spectrum of cefuroxime by inactivating beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, which would otherwise render the antibiotic ineffective.

This combination is particularly valuable in treating infections caused by beta-lactamase-producing strains, enhancing the overall efficacy of the antibiotic. It is widely used for various bacterial infections, including those affecting the respiratory tract, urinary tract, and skin. The formulation ensures optimal absorption and bioavailability, providing effective therapeutic concentrations at the site of infection to combat bacterial pathogens.
