About
Adalirel 40mg Injection contains adalimumab, an antirheumatic medicine that belongs to a class of drugs known as TNF (tumor necrosis factor) inhibitors. It is used either alone or in combination with other medications to relieve symptoms of several autoimmune disorders. This injection is commonly prescribed to treat conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, where the immune system attacks the joints causing pain, swelling, and reduced joint function. It is also used for polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis in children, which affects joint movement and growth. Additionally, Adalirel is indicated for enthesitis-related arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, axial spondyloarthritis without radiographic signs of ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, and plaque psoriasis. It is effective in managing hidradenitis suppurativa—a skin condition that causes painful lumps in areas like the armpits and groin—as well as inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The medication is also used to treat non-infectious uveitis, a type of eye inflammation.
This injection should not be used if you are allergic to adalimumab or any of the ingredients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in individuals with active tuberculosis, severe infections, or moderate to severe heart failure. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have any existing infections or a history of lung, heart, liver, or kidney disorders. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or think you might be pregnant, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
