About

BANDY PLUS 12 TAB is an anthelmintic combination medication, typically containing Albendazole and Ivermectin, formulated for the effective treatment of a broad spectrum of parasitic worm infestations. Albendazole, a benzimidazole derivative, exerts its action by inhibiting the polymerization of beta-tubulin in helminths, thereby disrupting their cellular structure and impairing glucose uptake, leading to the parasite's energy depletion and death. Ivermectin, an antiparasitic agent, works by selectively binding to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells, causing an influx of chloride ions, resulting in hyperpolarization, paralysis, and death of the parasite. This synergistic combination provides enhanced efficacy against various intestinal nematodes, filarial worms, and certain ectoparasites, making it a robust option for managing mixed parasitic infections and improving patient outcomes.
