About

BANRAY OSP TAB is a combination medication typically containing a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) like Pantoprazole and a prokinetic agent like Domperidone. Pantoprazole works by irreversibly blocking the proton pump in the gastric parietal cells, thereby reducing the secretion of gastric acid. This action helps to alleviate symptoms associated with acid reflux, heartburn, and peptic ulcers, and promotes the healing of esophageal erosions. It provides sustained acid suppression, which is crucial for managing acid-related disorders.

Domperidone complements Pantoprazole by acting as a dopamine antagonist, primarily at the D2 receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone and the gastrointestinal tract. This increases gastrointestinal motility and tone, facilitating the movement of food through the stomach and intestines, and reducing nausea and vomiting. The combination effectively addresses both acid overproduction and impaired gastric emptying, offering comprehensive relief for conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and dyspepsia.
