About

Brivahenz is an antiepileptic drug (AED) used in the treatment of partial-onset seizures with or without secondary generalization in patients with epilepsy. Its precise mechanism of action is thought to involve high-affinity binding to synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A) in the brain. This binding is believed to modulate neurotransmitter release, thereby reducing neuronal excitability and preventing the excessive electrical activity that leads to seizures.

By selectively targeting SV2A, Brivahenz helps to stabilize nerve cell activity and reduce the frequency and severity of seizures. It is often used as an add-on therapy when other antiepileptic medications have not provided adequate control, offering a targeted approach to managing epilepsy and improving the quality of life for affected individuals.
